Communities in Onisere Ward of Odigbo local government area of Ondo state on Saturday commended the federal government for putting smiles on faces of Nigerians through the provision of its first round palliative scheme to cushion the effects of economic meltdown in the country as inherent from fuel subsidy removal by the present administration in the country.
Those communities who were comprises of religion leaders, members of different political parties including the traditionalists also lauded the Ondo state government for making the distribution of those food items come limelight under transparent and fair atmosphere.
Across session of segments of the society in the area gave the commendation shortly after receiving food stuff as a relief item (rice) from a committee set up by the Ondo state government saddled with the responsibility to distribute the grains to poor and vulnerable households,the exercise which was held at the Onirogo community town hall in Onisere of Odigbo council area of the state.
Commending the government for its gesture,the chairman of the Chirstians Association of Nigeria,CAN Onisere chapter, Pastor Ogundokun Benjamin applauded president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the succour as hunger continue biting harder among the masses in Nigeria.
Pastor Ogundokun,who was represented by Reverend Sunday Adeleke of First Baptist Church Mile 10 noted that the ongoing nationwide palliative distribution by the government is aiming at making life bearable for Nigerians by president Tinubu led administration particularly poor and vulnerables in the country.
The cleric,while explaining the imminent hardships posing by the current removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria,berated past administrations for shielding looters who had left the country in abject while trying to avoid global circumspection
"On behalf of christians family, I'm appreciating president Bola Tinubu for deeming it fit to provide these items for less privileged Nigerian at this trying time"
"The hardship we're experiencing now was inherited from past administrations"
"Those who ltook part in looting this country are those that had led this country in abject condition". Pastor Ogundokun stated
The Islamic cleric, however urged the federal government not to renege in ameliorating the sufferings of Nigerians at this crucial time, pledging on behalf of muslims community and its sisters to continue to support the present government in its programmes and policies.
Those religion figures,however, praised president Bola Tinubu, governor Rotimi Akeredolu and member of the Ondo State House of Assembly Ifabiyi Olatunji for the overall best success recorded throughout the programme.

Earlier, a lawmaker representing Odigbo constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly,Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji while apprising the people of his political ward and other constituents informed the people the factors necessitating the allocation of the palliative by the presidency,called for even distribution of the items irrespective of political affiliation since everyone is affected by current economic devastation,asked for no lion share.
The political topnotch in Ondo state stressed that the programme is not meant for only members of the ruling party alone but it must cut across every nooks and crannies.
Chairman house committee on public account at Ondo State House of Assembly,therefore appreciated president Bola Tinubu for coming up with such a commendable programme out of inquisitiveness and perseverance at this period of asperity, just as he at the same time extolled governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON for constituting committed transient committees that has led into tremendous achievements in the ongoing exercise.
The exercise was well acceptable among residents if over thirty communities in the area, as there was no room given for lion share.
