Ondo State lawmaker, Ifabiyi Olatunji, has announced the passing of his mother, Madam Comfort Abiodun Lawal.
The late Comfort Abiodun Lawal who was the IYE ORO of Oro-Ago Kingdom and by extension, the adjoining communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State died at one of the health facilities in Ilorin late Friday evening April 10 2026 after a brief illness, aged 85.
“My siblings and I announce, with deepest regret and total submission to the will of the Almighty, the passing into glory of our adorable, dutiful and ever dotting mother, Deaconess Deborah Ifabiyi, later Friday.
“Though saddened and by the departure of Mama, the one Abiyamo we knew, we are consoled with the knowledge that, even as she transits to eternity, she will be guided by the strong hands of the angels of the light in which she dwelt during her eventful and fruitful sojourn on the terrestrial plane”, the lawmaker added.
According to a statement issued by bereaved family on Saturday(today), burial arrangement will be communicated in due course.
Late Madam Comfort Abiodun Lawal whose until death, her account of stewardship can never be underestimated as chorister and a member of women elders forum at the 1st Evangelical Church Winning All Oro-Ago Kwara State.
The deceased is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.
