Ifabiyi,Fayemi Delve on Proficiency Transparency,Accountability As Bedrocks for Economic Prosperity of Any State

Ondo state house of assembly has called for more synergy between all the state agencies and the legislature as a tier of government, saying it is the only bedrock for proficiency, transparency and accountability to effective productivity in enhancing quality service delivery of concerned ministries of any given state yarning for economic prosperity.

The chairman house committee on Public Account at the state house of assembly,Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji made the call during his official familiarisation visit to the office of the State Accountant General at Alagbaka Akure the Ondo State capital on Thursday.

Hon Ifabiyi who was accompanied by members of the committee noted that the essence of his visit is to familiarize with the authority of the ministry for undeniable synergy that would aid in cordial relationship between the committee and those state government agencies for a sustainable goal at targeted on economic prosperity of the state.

The lawmaker while throwing back to information making the round about the recent deduction in workers salaries whether founded or unfounded,he saluted the efficiency of the Accountant General for all the jobs well done.

He promised under the guise of the committee and the state assembly to provide reasonable assistance to any tenable question within the coverage areas,insisting that the committee is poised to foster for proficiency,transparency and accountability of all ministry under its watch.

On her own part, a female lawmaker at the state assembly representing Ilaje Constituency 2,Hon (Mrs) Olawumi  Fayemi Obayelu called for smooth transition,transparency and accountability between office of Accountant General and other sectors under the supervision of the committee of the state house of.

While welcoming the standing committee of the state house of assembly to her office,the Accountant General of the state, Mrs Toyin Esther Oni,thanked the committee for the visit, pledging for collaboration of the state assembly to produce desired efficacy in the ministry.

Mrs Oni who noted that the only way forward to sustain a better working conditions among government establishments is by building a smooth relationship needed between the tiers of government for better service delivery.

Based on the recent error in the payment of workers salaries in the state,Mrs Oni claimed that those errors were encountered from the management payroll system as it was faulty during the process,adding that the ministry has devised means by migrating to new system in order to avoid further occurrences.

Mrs Toyin Oni, however,commended the house committee on public account for coming up with such observation as a matter of public concern,appealing to those affected workers in the state not to term the situation to anything else,saying the ministry is working round the clock to ameliorate on its working conditions.

During the visit of the committee to the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service,ODIRS,the Director of Finance and Accounts of the agency,Mr Olusegun Adedipe gave an improvement analysis made by the agency which surpassed the previous.

Mr Enikuomehin Olusegun, Director Personal Income Tax in his votes of thanks appreciated the committee for its august visit.

Earlier, the Secretary,Public Account Committee of the State assembly,Ibuola Bolarinwa Christopher told all those  ministries visited the essence of the interface in the building of an indivisible relationship between the committee and concerned ministries.

Also in attendance were  Hon Chris Aiyebusiwa, Hon Kolawole Ologede and amongst others.
