Lawmakers Pay Condolence Visit To Family In Ibadan,Feel Remorse
....As ODHA Calls For Concerted Efforts To Make Akeredolu's Legacies More Alive
Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji in his remorseful condolence speech before the family, described the deceased Ondo governor as agent of positive change with impeccable character who have changed the narrative of sunshine state within the limited time spent in office before exiting this sinful world on Wednesday.
The speaker noted that those great landmarks of governor Akeredolu would ever remain indelible,urging wife of the immediate passed away generalissimo, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and entire family to take solace since God who giveth,taketh at the appointed time.
The Ondo State House of Assembly leader, on behalf of other state legislators however,called on members of State Executive Council to join hands with the legislative arm of government in the state in order not to allow the good legacies of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to die a natural death but instead be alive.
The speaker, therefore asked God to give the family a fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
According to the speaker"we're here to sympathize with family of our late father Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON who died Wednesday"
"It is painful that we lost such a person who have transformed Ondo State within the little time in power as agent of positive change"
"Our Arakunrin has gone to rest on the bosom of Almighty God"
"It's our prayer that God in His infinite mercy give the family fortitude to bear the loss,and eternal rest to the departed governor"
Responding,the younger brother to the late governor,professor Oluwole Akeredolu who spoke on behalf of the family thanked the lawmakers for their visit at this mournful period, wishing the entourage a safe return back to Ondo state
He said: on behalf of Akeredolu's family, I appreciate you for your condolence visit and pray to God,a safe return
The speaker, Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji was accompanied by the deputy speaker, Rt Hon Abayomi Babatunde Akinruntan, chairman house committee on public account at Ondo state house of assembly, Hon Ifabiyi Samuel Olatunji, majority leader of the house, Hon Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi,Nelson Akinsuroju, Kolawole Ologede of Akure north constituency and host others.
The late governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON was said to have died in Germany on December 27,2023 after a prolonged illness.
