...As Ayadi of Ore Kingdom leads Ondo 2025 Isese Day in Akure
A call has gone to governments at all level not to take chide of traditional religion but to recognise the third tier of institution of worship especially at this critical period of the ravaging nationwide insecurity in its quest at seeking God's face for protection, peace and tranquility in Nigeria.
The Isese ñationwide President-General, High Chief Tope Ijiniga spoke on Wednesday while addressing journalists immediately after his courtesy visit to the office of the commissioner for culture and tourism shortly after he and other traditional worshipers converged at Adegbemile cultural centre to celebrate this year's 2025 Isese Day in Akure the Ondo State capital.
During the visit, he appealed to Governor Luck Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to declare August 20th of every year a public holiday to commemorate Isese Day as it is in other southwest states like Osun,Ogun,Oyo,Lagos and Ekiti States.
The Ayadi of Ore Kingdom, however, appreciated Ondo State Governor for his impact in this year isese day celebration,argued that Isese, if supported by government would expand in scope in subsequent years to come.
He, therefore, urged Ondo State Government to prioritize the importance of Isese which is meant to pray for peace and protection of citizens of the state, as well as to avert unforeseen circumstances in the land.
Receiving in the Isese President General, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa,represented by Ondo State commissioner for culture and tourism, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun felicitated with all traditional worshipers across the state on the occasion of 2025 anniversary, called for more unity among traditionalists in the state.
Olatunbosun promised that the present administration in the state would consider the annual Isese Day,as well be enshrined in its public holiday's events diary.
The event showcased the riched-cultural heritage of Yoruba race, and provides avenue for tradition and cultural promotion and reinforce the importance of traditional practices and its values.
2025 Isese Day which was witnessed by traditional worshipers across the state was celebrated with pump and peagantry, the celebration is meant to usher prayers and make sacrifices to the deities for peace and tranquility of Ondo State.
The traditional occasion which is designed for 20th of August of every year is also aimed at honouring Yoruba culture and traditions,and to appraise and offer sacrifices to the deity.
Meanwhile, this year event marks significant milestone in Ondo state as it featured masquerade dances around the state capital, and was embraced by prominent personalities who promised to make it more eventful in future times
