Ondo @ 50: Lawmaker Urges Unity, Support for Aiyedatiwa’s Administration

Commends past leaders, successful administrations

Chairman House Committee on information in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Ifabiyi Samuel Olatunji (JP), has congratulated the Executive Governor of the State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on the celebration of the state’s 50th anniversary.

The lawmaker also used the medium to appreciate people of the State, ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), under the governor's watch for supporting the present administration in the State,describing the milestone as a moment of pride, reflection and renewed commitment to progress.

In a statement made available to journalists on Monday, Ifabiyi maintained that the creation of Ondo State in 1976 laid a solid foundation for development, unity and socio-economic advancement, adding that the state has continued to live up to its reputation as the 'Sunshine State' in Nigeria.

The lawmaker commended past leaders and successive administrations for their contributions to the growth of the state, noting that the collective efforts of leaders and citizens have sustained Ondo State through five decades of political, economic and social transformations.

Ifabiyi particularly praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what he described as visionary and people-oriented leadership, especially in the areas of infrastructural development, education, health-care, redesigned security architecture and workers’ welfare.

According to him, the current administration has repositioned Ondo State on the path of sustainable development and inclusive governance, ensuring that dividends of democracy reach both urban and rural communities.

He urged residents of the state to remain united and continue to support Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration in order to consolidate the gains recorded so far.

“As we celebrate 50 years of Ondo State, we must renew our commitment to unity, peace and collective responsibility.

"Supporting the present administration is key to achieving greater heights and building a stronger, more prosperous Ondo State for future generations,” Ifabiyi said.

He also called on public servants, local government workers and stakeholders at the grassroots to demonstrate professionalism, dedication and patriotism in the discharge of their duties, stressing that effective local governance remains critical to the overall development of the state.

Ifabiyi Olatunji, however,wished the people of Ondo State a happy golden jubilee celebration and expressed optimism that the next 50 years would usher in greater progress, prosperity and stability for the state.
