The Area commander of Police,Ore command office, ACP J. G Bakyu, PSC, has on Friday, warned all cyclists also known as Okada riders to legally get their motorcycles registered as the command would not hesitate to impound any motorcycle found guilty as from next week.
ACP Bakyu gave the warning while receiving in audience members of the Nigeria Union of journalists led by the Officer-in-Charge, NTA Okitipupa, Oluwabunmi Arowose in Ore.
The NPF boss Ore Area Command office noted that it is now time for the agency to go on thorough inspection of Okadas in effort to fish out criminals from their dens, saying many heinous activities carrying out by miscreants are conveyed by motorbikes to perpetrate their evils.
While emphasizing the need for community leaders to collaborate with the Nigerian Police Force and its brother security Agencies including the Southwest Security Network operatives to flush out kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements out of their hideouts, however,called on the publics to strictly adhere and pay total obedient to police directives to avoid sanction.
Contrary to what residents of Ore community were saying on the accident which involved a police officer who was crushed by a cyclist while trying to cross to the other side of the popular Rore bridge around 8PM on Thursday, the police authority said,findings revealed that the cyclist escaped when discovered he had struck an under aged boy of a woman police officer whose motorcycle is currently at Area Police Command Office in Ore.
Recalled that residents of Ore community have since Thursday night and on Friday morning September 2, standing in different directions on popular Rore bridge along Ondo road, wondering on how an unidentified Okada rider rammed into the river which his whereabout is yet to be ascertained.
