The Chairman of the Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Security and Community Development, Hon. Akoni Ifabiyi Olatunji, has congratulated the traditional ruler of Ajue Kingdom, Oba Bamidele Akinwe, on the celebration of this year's Odun-Oba Festival, describing the occasion as one of deep spiritual significance to the people of the kingdom.
In a statement issued at the weekend by his spokesperson, Sam Ajide, the lawmaker also felicitated members of the Ajue Traditional Council, traditional worshippers, adherents of other faiths, and residents of the ancient town on the annual festival, noting its spiritual importance and cultural value.
Ifabiyi urged traditionalists and people of other religions in Ajue and beyond to use the occasion to renew their commitment to religious harmony, peaceful coexistence, and unity, stressing that these values remain essential for sustainable development.
He said, "I rejoice with Kabiyesi, the Akogbe of Ajue Kingdom, and all the people of the kingdom on the celebration of this year's Odun-Oba Festival. The festival is significant not only because it provides an opportunity for traditional worshippers and adherents of other faiths to come together in prayer and celebrate their shared heritage, but also because it marks the beginning of a new chapter for the ancient town.
"As the people celebrate and reconnect, I urge everyone to pray for the continued peace, unity, and prosperity of Ajue Kingdom, Ondo State, and Nigeria as a whole. I also encourage the celebrants to continue building stronger bonds and promoting harmony for the collective progress of our communities and the nation."
