Ahead of governorship and State House of Assembly campaign kick off for 2023 general elections in Nigeria, some Units Executives in Odigbo Ward, have called on Local Government party leaders and candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC to resolve all lingering crisis rocking some political Units in affected communities to avoid any absurd in the general exercise.
Those people spoke during a reconciliation meeting held with Constituency I Ondo State House of Assembly Candidate of the party,Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji Samuel at the Akinfolarin Community High School, Akintola village in Odigbo Local Government Area of the State as part of efforts to quench arbitrary behaviours among key leaders of the party at the grassroots.
While alleging those Ward leaders; Hon Bunmi Olawoye alongside with two others Isaac and Isiaka of some irregularities activities characterized with nefarious attitudes and gross misconducts, spokespersons of those aggrieved APC members,Kudomi Bola Adedoje Adetoyese,Azeez Isiaka said they have been truncated and maltreated in various degree by depriving them of their rights.
The trio maintained that the three alleged people lack sincerity in discharge of their responsibilities as party leaders representing the zone, adding that some of their evil perpetrations had led many disarray and put off their membership with APC to join opposition parties.
Those aggrieved members manning those political Units in Akintola zone,however, told Local Government Executives of APC and State Assembly Candidate to devise a means of creating another channel of communication between them in such a way that would create avenue for direct relationship in the party rather than using the trio as point of contact.
Also, a woman representative, Mrs Mulikat Lawal noted that those alleged executives have failed to represent them in good manners, calling for urgent amendment before 2023 electioneering campaign commence proper.
Those party members in Akinfolarin zone also alleged that the three identified principal officers of always shortlist non APC loyalists in since time immemorial particularly, when the need arise for them to benefit from Life Enhancing Programmes, noting that there was an alleged extortion in the recent FADAMA programme, a programme by the Federal Government to assist citizens in setting up Agricultural Business,where they were charged to pay the sum of two thousand naira per head.
"We have never benefitted in all government programmes and policies including the latest FADAMA programme because of bad leadership at the grassroots.
We have being marginalized by those who call themselves warrant leaders.
"It is high time for monkey to work and baboon to eat the sweat. No, it's over". Aggrieved APC members frowned.
While appealing to those aggrieved members to forget those things of the past and move on with the current political jobs,the Odigbo Constituency I House of Assembly Candidate of the party, Ifabiyi Olatunji Samuel, said all issues raised would be attend to sequentially and treated in good faith, assured them of open relationship in subsequent time.
Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji explained that though, actions of those in question may have caused them many infractions, nevertheless,they must ensure that they contribute their quota for the progress and success of APC in order to achieve greatness in the next year's general elections in the country, saying no place like home.
"We will address every matter one after the other and ensure we bury the hatchet
Just let all members of APC work toward seeing the party's victory in all elective positions. I beseech you to let the sleeping dog lie". The hopeful State lawmaker, Ifabiyi stated.
In his reaction,the Odigbo Local Government Chairman of the ruling party, Alhaji Fatai Olawale enjoined all members of APC to unite as one big family by forming a formidable entity capable of restricting external insinuations from the opposition parties for APC to win all its elective seat, including the State House of Assembly election comes 2023.
"My advice that, let's every member joins hand together to achieve the set goals in 2023". Odigbo APC chair advised.
Those affected communities were include: Akintola, Ago-Ibadan,Aperin,Ilutitun, and among others
