Those key actors in the sector gave the commendation at a one-day seminar programme for training and retraining of secondary schools teachers held at the Nigerian Union of Teachers'Hall Odigbo,in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
When declaring the seminar tagged"Training/Refreshers Course for Teachers"opened, Ondo State Commissioner for Urban and Regional Planning Development, Hon Amidu Takuro explained that the programme as one of its kind, would go a long way in enabling teachers to perform optimally in their chosen profession.
The commissioner in his goodwill message also described the facilitator,Rt Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin as exceptional lawmaker among his contemporaries in the nineth assembly especially as he has funding and providing necessary educational materials including furnitures for notable public primaries secondary schools and even for the only Federal institution in the Southern Senatorial District of the State,the Federal Polytechnic Ileoluji, Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area, saying that posterity will never forget his various antecedents in future to come.
Also speaking, the Area Education Officer in Odigbo, Pastor Akinniyi Dotun and Personal Assistant to the lawmaker,Hon Adegboyega Najeem in his short note,appreciated Rt Hon Mayowa Samuel Akinfolarin for his anticipation in the area of revitalizing education in the two affected Local Government Area, urging those teachers participated in the seminar to extend what they had learnt and allow the change in them to take positive effects in life of students of their respective institutions in order to resuscitate education in the area.
Two participants who also spoke on behalf of about one hundred and fifty beneficiaries of the programme, Mr Olorunyomi Haruna(Odigbo) and Mrs Olufunmi Ajidara commended Rt Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin for organizing such a laudable and impactful one day workshop for teachers, identifying it as most productive,first of its kind ever since they got employed by the Teaching Service Commission,TESCOM in the State.
Earlier, in his speech delivered,the lawmaker, representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo/ Odigbo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin, ably represented by his former aid, Kadiri Olurimisi told participants that the seminar is basically organised for teachers to improve the teaching condition of those selected public schools tutors in order to harness good service delivery in their teaching profession.
At the end of the training session,each participant went home with a take-home cash of #22,000 for their transport and refreshment respectively.
Other dignitaries in attendance were also include; the APC Party chairman in Odigbo, Alhaji Fatai Olawale, Ondo State House of Assembly Candidate, Odigbo Constituency I of the ruling party, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji Samuel, political associates and top government functionaries.
