A billionaire business mogul spoke on Saturday during the annual anniversary of Ifesowapo Amuludun Elders and Youth Forum held at the Government Playing Ground in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.
The association which was made up of non indigenes of diverse tribes in Nigeria on Saturday , gathered guests and well wishers for their annual youth anniversary, confirment of awards as well the swearing -in of the new executives of its female arm (Ifesowapo Women Forum).
Dr Jimoh Ibrahim, who is a Chairman of Global Fleet Oil and Gas Group who doubled as the Chairman of the occassion congratulated members of the association for putting up such a high class anniversary, noting that for them to sustain anniversary takes a strong sense of cohesion among them.
Dr Ibrahim, however, advised members of the association not to see themselves as strangers in their land of residence, stressing that no community grows without the collective input of non-indigenes yet contributed massively to the economic advancement of the community.
He noted that Ore community was heavily populated by non indigenes yet their economic collaboration and input has continued to form a huge bulk of the areas of economic mainstay, adding that in its scorecard, Ore as Centre of Economic worth a local government .
“Let me state categorically that the people of Odigbo LGA deserve better treatment because Ore which the headquarters of Odigbo LGA was the major industrial hub of Ondo South, even the state.
“Ore plays significant economic role as the linking route between the West and the East en route the Lagos axis and there is no doubt about the fact that the success story of Ore town as a commercial city will be impossible without the commendable input of the residents, whose majority are the non indigenes.
“In Odigbo LGA, the ward 10 at Ore alone has about 38,000 voters and that is a lump some by the analysis of data analytics. You will agree with me that ward 10 alone has a significant voting strength than other wards. Therefore, these voters are our own people, no matter what tribe or what community outside Odigbo that they have come from.
“For such huge population of residents , they deserve better treatment at all times,” Ibrahim added.
In his habitual display of natural philanthropy, the hopeful parliamentarian in the red chamber, therefore,supported the association with a mouth watering donation even as he promised them another tranche of a huge donation immediately after the Feb. 25 elections, when he would had emerged as the Senator elect in Ondo South.
Also speaking at the occasion, Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in his remarks, congratulated the association for hosting a befitting anniversary.
The number two citizen of the State also appealed to the good people of Odigbo to continue to give APC massive votes as they have always done in previous elections, describing Odigbo Local Government as agent of progressivism in which the state has banked on for good vote harvests.
Earlier, the chairman of the association, Mr Abimbola Oladimeji appreciated the Araba of Ikaleland Dr Jimoh Ibrahim, and members of his campaign train for honouring their invitation.
Mr Abimbola described Dr Jimoh Ibrahim as a figure in Nigeria with high esteem, charging him to extend his kind gesture to Ore by citing the satellite campus of the university,University of Fortune in Ore.
Highlight of the event was presentation of awards of honour to some philanthropists who have contributed in no measures in the developmental strides of the stated cosmopolitan town and executive members of the association.
