ONDO LAWMAKER,IFABIYI COMMISERATES WITH FAMILIES OF ORE FIRE VICTIMS

....Warns Residents Against Content Scooping

Following a fire that broke out from a petrol laden tanker at Showboy community in Ore,the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday, leaving over twenty people dead,a State lawmaker Ifabiyi Olatunji has commiserated with families of the victims.

Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji,a lawmaker representing Odigbo Constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly in his condolence message on Monday, described the incident as unfortunate,warned those having pleasure in scooping fuel from fallen tankers to do away from such attitude in order to avoid early grave among residents.

The lawmaker while praying God to grant those who sustained injuries from the  inferno a speedy recovery, also prayed to God to grant eternal rest to all reposed souls.

"I commiserate with families of those who were killed in sunday's fire accident at showboy area yesterday".

This is unfortunate,and our people must go a way from scooping fuel from tankers. It's deadly

"I pray to God to grant those with injuries quick recovery and also the reposed eternal rest". Hon Ifabiyi said.

Earlier on Monday,report gathered  indicates that over twenty people lost their lives as they were burnt beyond recognition after a content gushed out from a surmmersaulted petrol laden tanker ignited fire along Lagos Benin road.

Some residents in the area who spoke about the incident told journalists that over twenty people including two pregnant women and three children died in the process while others sustained different degree of injuries.

Two of the eyewitness,Mrs Susan Jimmy and Orimisan Akintelu,informed newsmen that some of the victims were said to have gone to the scene of the incident to scoop substance from the fallen tanker when the incident occurred.

"We were around here when we heard that a petrol tanker fell in the rain".

"Before the incident, people were tapping fuel when fire started after a spark from mobile phone from one of the victims".

"More than twenty burnt beyond recognition including two pregnant women and tree children". Residents noted.

As at the time of filing this report over twenty people had reportedly been killed from the inferno,while those cheat death are currently receiving treatment at different government-owned hospitals in the State.
