Do not try to take records of such in future.... Ayedatiwa warns residents
As state govt promises to reach out to victims soon
It would be recalled that news circulated in the air on Sunday,indicates that a fire outbreak broke out at Showboy area of Ore when some residents were scooping content from a surmmersaulted petrol tanker where eight people according to Ondo state chapter of Federal Roads Safety Corps, burnt beyond recognition, hospitalised others and rendered some homeless.
Commiserating with families of the victims and people of the local government in general,the Acting Governor of the state,while describing the incident as odd,horrific and a rude shock, noting that accident happens when no one expect.
Addressing residents on the need to be proactive and be at a safer side rather than taking records of an accident scene, appealed to residents of the State to alert appropriate agency answerable to such problem.
The Acting Governor,also maintained that as party of effort to curtail future occurrence,the state government has purchased eight fire fighter vans that would be soon distributed to all strategic areas of Ondo State.
Reiterating the commitment of governor Akeredolu's led administration to cater for its citizens, Ayedatiwa on behalf of the state government promised to reach out to those who lost their belongings and loved ones to the incident.
"When heard this sad news that souls have perished in this situation,it was a rude shock".
"Though,we don't pray for this but In any accident like this, I urge you residents not to go near not trying to take record, what you need to do is to call on appropriate agency".
"The State Government has provided eight fire fighter vans and I believe one would be at Ore as a populated entity in Ondo South".
For those that lost their family members and properties in the incident the State government is ready to reach out to them. Ayedatiwa said
Earlier,two community stakeholders including the youths leader Oluwaseun Ajidagba,commended Ondo State Acting Governor for honouring them a visit, urging government to provide a standby fire fighter equipments and personnels to avert similar future challenges.
Your Excellency Sir the deputy governor, though sad,but it is out pleasure to receive you here.
What we people need is the availability of active fire service station
And to also assist those lost their belongings in the process. Residents appealed
Recalled that member of Ondo State House of Assembly representing the constituency Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji Samuel had earlier condoled with families of those who lost their lives in the inferno.
