****You Can't Leave Education in the Hands of Government Only,It is A Clarion Call for All Critical Stakeholders-Says Ondo Speaker

Distributes Writing Materials,Gives Scholarship Awards

Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji,the speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly said education as known for as the best legacy must be prioritized and invested on by both the government and other critical stakeholders as it remains the only bedrock for any society yarning for growth and development.

The speaker made this known on Tuesday in an educational programme tagged: "Prize Giving;Back to School Empowerment Programme and distribution of writing materials for pupils and students" of the two constituencies of Ondo,an occasion preceding a new academic calendar of the year held at Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre Ondo city,in Ondo East local government area of the State.

Rt Hon Oladiji who also gave scholarship awards to best students,noted that the programme is aimed at giving back to the society also,explained that the journey of education must not left only in the hand of government alone but must be a joint task from gifted private individuals in enhancing its sustainability.

The speaker posited that his affordability of providing writing materials for indigent pupils and students in the area is part of fulfilling some of his campaign promises,the journey that eventually earned him the Ondo East state constituency seat in the last March 25,2023 State House of Assembly election and consequently in June 4 where he also emerged the speaker of the Ondo state house of assembly respectfully.

Speaking on why education has came to stay in Nigeria,the mouthpiece in Ondo state house of assembly insisted that it is a clarion call for influential individuals, corporate organisation to adequately join hands with government in order to allow sons and daughters of the less privileged to have access to where writing and speaking skills could be acquired.

Across sessions of pupils,students and their parents however,commended Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji for providing younger ones with school materials at this time where there is total economic downturn, prayed God to guide and protect the speaker in all his endeavours.

Some materials distributed by the speaker includes; 60 leaves notebooks, food flasks, school bags,textbooks,mathematical instruments,and other educational items.

Members of Ondo State House of Assembly who accompanied the speaker were the clerk of the house Barrister Jaiyeola Benjamin,Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji representing Odigbo Constituency 1, Hon Kolawole Ologede (Akure north),and Hon Ogunlana Christopher from Irele state constituency.
