****Condemns Assaults By Players
The Director of Sports in the last 2023 Aseyori Unity Football Cup competition,Dimeji Abimbola has publicly debunked the allegation that he has been paid the sum of 1.750 million naira as prizes awarded for winner alongside a team which came second in the tournament held in January this year.
Dimeji made the revelation on Monday in Akure the Ondo State capital following an allegation leveled against the Odigbo Local Government Footballers Association Head Coach by winners of the Aseyori football tournament,Okitipupa FC and Odigbo FC respectfully.
He noted that the convener of Aseyori cup,now Ondo south Senator,Dr Jimoh Ibrahim has never offer him any money in connection with the promise made with football teams nor the #20,000 stipend meant for each player at the end of the game.
While urging members of the two affected football clubs to clear the doubt on whether or not that the #1.750 million naira prizes meant for the players by Dr Jimoh Ibrahim have been swept under his carpet or embezzled,tasked the general publics to conduct thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the claim.
Coach Dimeji,however condemned how he was assaulted publicly at Akure city stadium some weeks ago by some concerned football team players who took part in the competition.
"I am saying it categorically that senator Jimoh Ibrahim has never given me a dime to offer any player or team for the last Aseyori football tournament"
"To my surprise,some of the players participated in the game inflicted me with abusive words when met at Akure sports complex recently"
"They pointed accusing fingers on me that I had embezzled their money"
"Please the general publics,Dr Jimoh didn't give nor sent me to anybody".Coach Dimeji strongly declared
It would be recalled that Aseyori football cup competition was organised by senator representing Ondo South senatorial district of the state senator Jimoh Ibrahim CFR ahead of the last 2023 senatorial election.
