As Imo People's Assembly Chair Denounces GBV, Extols Ondo First Lady Over LCDA Appointment
The Igbo traditional leader also challenged the people to respect their culture and honoure one another irrespective of age variance and economic status.
Chief Wilfred Onyeama gave the advice at the grand finale of Imo People's Assembly meeting,an engagement marking end of the year activities for 2023 which was held at the conference hall Onyendu crescent, Ore the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.
The Ore based business mogul noted that showing sign of respect to culture,elders and people at the authority are essential in African countries especially Nigeria, described Igbos as most respecters of culture.
He urged all descendants of Ohanaeze not to allow Igbo culture and cultural revolution to go into extinction so that their unborn children would have the idea regrettable in future times.
In his address, the chairman of Imo People's Assembly in Odigbo local government area,Prince Emmanuel Ihuoma after ordering members to observe a minute silence for departed souls who died this year,tasked the people to continue praying fervently for protection against untimely death.
Prince Emmanuel Ihuoma while also enjoining the Imo state group to maintain their integrity and status quo in their various family,charged them to abstain from gender based violence which he in strong term condemned among married men and women this days.
He urged both men and women not to engage in any fight culpable to escalate to GBV and other related disheartening matters as Ondo state government will not spare anyone spearheading violent in marriage.
The Ondo State Park Management Committee member on behalf of Imo People's Assembly, however commended Ondo first lady for the recent appointment of former councilor Mrs Eucharia Nwamara as vice chairman of Odigbo local government area.
Meanwhile 2023 Imo People's Assembly ending of the year get-together roundtable was observed with funfair.
