Asks Agboola Ajayi to join hands with the Governor to move Ondo State forward
The Chairman, House Committee on Security and Community Development, Hon. Ifabiyi Olatunji has felicitated with the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on the judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria which re-affirmed the governor as winner of the November 16th, 2024 governorship election in the State.
In a statement issued by his Media Office on Wednesday, Ifabiyi commended the judiciary for the accelerated adjudication of the case up to the apex court in less than a year, adding that the nation’s justice sector is presently raising the bar in the areas of professionalism and expedited dispensation of justice.
The State lawmaker pointed out that now that the case has been laid to rest at the apex court, Governor Aiyedatiwa should be allowed to concentrate on the real business of governance to enable him deliver the deliverables to the good people of Ondo State, insisting that incessant litigations after elections often create untold distractions to public office holders.
He saluted the courage of Mr Alfred Agboola Aiayi, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for being a foremost democrat and staunch believer in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and the arbiter of justice, just as the lawmaker implored him to join hands with Governor Aiyedatiwa with a view to collectively taking Ondo State to greater heights.
Ifabiyi enjoined all stakeholders to rally multi-dimensional support for Governor Aiyedatiwa to enable him perform excellently,
The lawmaker, however,described the Governor as a well focused, development-driven and astute administrator who needs the support of all well-meaning Ondo sons and daughters home and abroad to actualize his brilliant socio-economic agenda for the betterment of the people of the State.
According to him, “I salute the utmost courage of Mr Agboola Ajayi for reposing confidence in the judiciary and he has fought gallantly so far, but now that the case has been laid to rest"
