Beneficiaries commend BTO, pledge unalloyed support for Tinubu
ORE, Ondo State — More than 200 small-scale business owners in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have benefited from an empowerment programme organised by the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) and sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The initiative, tagged "Elo Soo Loja," was held on Tuesday at the Sabo International Market in Ore, attracting traders, market women, Babaloja and other stakeholders from across the local government area.
Beneficiaries, drawn from various trades including food vending, tailoring, agribusiness, petty trading, barbing and hairdressing, received financial support aimed at strengthening their businesses and improving their livelihoods.
Speaking at the third phase of the programme, the Director-General of GMT in Ondo State, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, said the initiative was designed to bridge the funding gap confronting many grassroots entrepreneurs and encourage self-reliance through enterprise development.
He said the programme was part of GMT's broader commitment to promoting economic empowerment, reducing unemployment and supporting the growth of micro and small-scale businesses.
According to him, the initiative extends beyond financial assistance, as beneficiaries are also encouraged to adopt discipline, accountability and sound business management practices to ensure sustainable growth.
Ogunleye commended Tunji-Ojo for sponsoring the programme, describing the minister as a committed public servant whose interventions have continued to improve the lives of residents across Ondo State.
He also urged members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to obtain and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the Tinubu administration had recorded notable achievements in infrastructure, security and economic reforms within its first three years in office.
Also speaking, the member representing Odigbo Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Akoni Ifabiyi Olatunji, and the Ondo State Secretary of GMT, Rasheed Badmus, appealed to residents of the local government to sustain their support for the APC, expressing confidence in President Bola Tinubu's leadership and his administration's reform agenda.
Several beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Tunji-Ojo for the financial support, describing the intervention as timely and pledging to invest the funds in expanding their businesses.
