***Commissioner Hopes for Better 2024 Budget 

As House Committee on Works Vows to Synergize With Ministry for Better Outputs


Ondo state government on Tuesday, reiterated its commitment to ensure that proper strategic plannings are put in place in all structural projects in order to provide an enabling environment to secure life of all residents of the state.

The commissioner for physical planning and urban development in Ondo state, Deaconess Lola Fagbemi stated this while receiving in the audience of the state house committee on Works and physical planning in her office at Oyemekun,the state capital,Akure.

Deaconess Fagbemi while noting that planning is pertinent in all  projects across board,she hinted that lack of adequate funding and political sentiment are hunchback to the ministry aiming to execute acceptable  projects by government of any state.

She explained that places like Akure, Ore and other viable cities,as a matter of urgency call for endurable master plan as this is pivotal to looking as a standard town or city

At the interface visit,the commissioner urged the 10th state assembly to assist the ministry in making frantic efforts to accomplish its mandate especially in the passage of the expected Ondo state 2024 budget.

She said "though there's financial crisis in this ministry,we wouldn't rest on our oars until we achieve our desired results

I want to remind you,this ministry has been facing a lot of challenges such as unavailability of furniture and others.

problems of inadequate funding and political sentiment are remote causes of poor planning

It is our hope that all these shall pass away; however we're urging to help consider this in 2024 budget"

Responding, a lawmaker representing Odigbo state constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji commended the commissioner for physical planning and urban development for handling such huge responsibility with utmost strength amidst fund scarcity.

Hon Ifabiyi,who is a member of the committee however,condemned poor planning style in Ondo state since time immemorial, pointing Ore metropolis as a case study where residents groan and take solace during rainy period due to flooding.

"At this time,the menace of poor planning in some parts of this state is worrisome

For instance,Ore where residents desert home during rainy season has no master plan

And as such, this menace are caused by inability of government to fund the ministry

Change of narrative must occurs in subsequent administration bro correct the mistake".

Earlier, chairman house committee on Works, Hon Olajide Oguntodun blamed governments over inability to provide necessary apparatus to fight the deficiency,on behalf of the committee promised to Synergize with the ministry for better outputs .
