...As Residents of Onisere, motorists heave a sigh of relief
Onisere residents, commuters and drivers plying Asejire-Mile13 axis in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have heaved a sigh of relief and commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as contractor handling the project now returned to construction site.
Speaking on Tuesday in Akure, the lawmaker representing Odigbo constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifabiyi Olatunji, lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa over the development.
Ifabiyi who explained that Asejire-Mile 13 road project was awarded by late governor Rotimi Akeredolu's led administration, described the Governor’s move as a big relief for people and motorists plying the area.
The lawmaker, while emphasising critical roles of a well-constructed road in facilitating economic activities and improving access to essential services, he commended the state government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development across the three senatorial districts of the state.
He stressed that the road if completed, would improve transportation of raw materials,semi-finished, and finished products thereby enhancing trade and attracting more investors to the region.
This development came followed the order by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa few weeks ago, directing contractors handling various road projects across the state to return to sites with immediate effect.
In a statement made public by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Dr Aiyedatiwa also approved the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of 60 kilometers of roads across the state within the next three months.
It was also gathered that Governor Aiyedatiwa, who promised that all ongoing infrastructural projects in the state would be completed, directed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to mobilise contractors back to the site to speed up work on the projects for early completion.
Governor Aiyedatiwa through his spokesperson, expressed determination of his administration to hit the ground running with the implementation of policies and programmes of government as scheduled and budgeted, ensuring timely payment for jobs done by contractors.
Others include the construction of 15.89km selected roads in Ondo township, construction of Arigidi-Ogbagi Akoko road, construction of internal roads in Olusegun Agagu University of Technology, Okitipupa, Construction of Emure-Ile-Eporo road and rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of 18.65 km of selected roads in Akure.
The Governor also approved the construction of selected roads in Akungba Akoko, the construction of selected roads in Igbobini and Ilaje, the reconstruction of the Orita-Obele junction in Okeodu with a spur to Ipinsa Road and Maronu Street, the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Alagbaka GRA roads, and the rehabilitation of Bolorunduro-Fagbo Road.
