Cleric urges christians to live right as Ondo lawmaker buries mother-in-law



Adetimehin, Adefiranye, Ondo lawmakers, other government officials pay tributes

...Bereaved family laments over the departed 

Kwara State-----Christians have been urged to live right, as God would bring everything to judgment on the last day.

The admonition was given at the funeral service for late Mrs. Racheal Asiawu Aduke Omoniyi, mother-in-law to Ondo State House of Assembly member Hon. Ifabiyi Olatunji, who was buried at her Iji-Isin, Isin Local government area of Kwara State on Saturday.

Rev'd Samuel Olaoluwa of First Baptist Church Sanctuary of Restoration Iji-Isin, in a sermon tagged: "the beginning and the end", also enjoined Christians to eschew back-biting and bitterness.

Citing the scripture from the book of St. Luke chapter 15, the cleric asked christians to toe the right path of God, adding that the ravaging insecurity in Nigeria is a product of failed leadership by concerned stakeholders in government and society.

In his remarks, Rev'd Samuel Olaoluwa, however called on youths in the country to utilize the imbedded talents in order to justify their purpose on earth.

One day, each of us here will be like Mrs. Racheal Asiawu Aduke Omoniyi . So, you better prepare for that day. 

"As christians, we must always put into consideration the beginning and the end. Hence,we must know and fulfill the purpose of being created"

"We must live right and in love for one another, eschewing bitterness, and slander because there is no competition in destiny,” he said.

The bereaved family

In a farewell address, Ifabiyi Olatunji noted that the death of late Mrs. Racheal Omoniyi, was a lesson in the brevity of human life, while underscoring the need for total submission to God in the affairs of men.

Describing his mother-in-law as an icon and a very loving mother, who impacted many lives, the lawmaker said: “Our mother and my mother-in-law was a very loving woman and she had made so much impact.

“Her departure underscores the brevity of life. She fought a good fight, but it was time for her to go as God willed it.

Above all she will continue to live because of her impacts and the fond memories,” he said.

Also speaking, key figures who were also in attendance, condoled with the family of the bereaved and Hon. Ifabiyi, noting that late Mrs Racheal had made her own mark here earth.

In their funeral oration, daughter to the deceased Mrs Lola Esther Ifabiyi and former Ifelodun/Isin house of representatives aspirant, Mr Samuel Omoniyi, described late Madam Racheal Omoniyi as peacemaker, temperamental, loving, an epitome of a mother and counsellor, saying “life will never be the same without her around.”

Late Madam Racheal Asiawu Aduke Omoniyi died at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Kwara State at 85 years.

In attendance at the service of songs and farewell programme in honour of the late female icon includes; Chairman of the All progressives Congress in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, lawmaker representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo federal constituency, Hon. Festus Adefiranye, member representing Akure north state constituency Hon. Kolawole Ologede, former commissioner for transport Barrister Tobi Ogunleye.

Others dignitaries were; members of the ruling party from Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State,religious leaders, captains of industries,and other top government functionaries.
