2027: Adefiranye visits Ajobu, receives royal blessing

.. As youths seek more support of the lawmaker in job creation, empowerment

A federal lawmaker representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo at the Federal House of representatives, on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to the historic Araromi-Obu Kingdom, where he sought the royal blessing from the monarch, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aderemi Adelola ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adefiranye, accompanied by a member of Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji, vice chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area,Giwa Rasheed, and other political associates, arrived at the palace of Ajobu and was received by the monarch in a brief but symbolic ceremony, reflecting Araromi-Obu’s age-long tradition of political consultation.

Speaking during the visit, Adefiranye described the Ajobu's palace as  moral compass for leadership in the Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker noted that his visit was rooted in respect for the throne and the cultural importance of seeking traditional guidance before major political engagements as well as to congratulate the traditional ruler for the new year.

“Kabiyesi,  I am here to salute your traditional leaderships, greet you for the New Year and to seek your royal guidance from the custodian of our heritage,” 

"As 2027 approaches, I am offering myself for another tenure. I humbly request your prayers, wisdom and fatherly support as I embark on this journey to restore more development, unity and prosperity to our people.” Adefiranye stated. “

Highlighting parts of his vision for communities including the ancient town  of Araromi-Obu and its adjoining towns, Adefiranye noted that the constituency needed continuity of good governance through youth empowerment, technological innovation, industrial growth and rural development.

The chairman House committee on pilgrimage, however, promised for more developmental projects before the expiration of his first tenure.

“I, Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye, have come to seek your leadership, mentorship and guidance toward my second term ambition to continue the mandate of good governance,” he added.

“Kabiyesi, your words are blessing I will carry with me throughout this journey,” he said. “If given another opportunity to serve, I will lead with fairness, fear of God and an unwavering commitment to development.”

Responding, the Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, His Imperial Majesty Oba Aderemi Adelola, commended Adefiranye for honouring the traditional institution and for prioritising development since inception in office as national assembly member.

“My son, I am deeply moved by several projects facilitated through your representation, may the ancestors guide your steps and may God bless your ambition with favour. Go with courage, and we're supporting you.” those traditional rulers stated

The  monarch, however, urged other political aspirants across the Federal Constituency to conduct their campaigns peacefully and avoid actions capable of threatening unity and security of life and property of citizens.

“Politics must never be a battlefield. It should be a platform for ideas, development and progress,” He added.

During the visit, Comrade Dayo Akinro who spoke on behalf of youths in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state, commended Hon. Festus Adefiranye for his selfless service, asked the lawmaker for more support particularly in the area of youth empowerment programmes and job creation.

Visibly moved by the monarch’s remarks, Adefiranye expressed gratitude for the fatherly counsel and spiritual support.

The visit marks another step in Adefiranye’s ongoing New Year visit to critical community stakeholders across the Federal Constituency as he intensifies preparations for his return in 2027.
