Former lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for what he described as the decisive leadership that culminated in the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Assistant on Media, Comr. Tomiwa Matthews, Akinfolarin described the rescue as reassuring and thanked God for preserving the lives of the victims.
He said the successful operation demonstrated the Federal Government's commitment to protecting the lives and security of Nigerians.
The former legislator also lauded the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Amotekun Corps, and local vigilante groups for their professionalism, courage, and coordinated efforts throughout the operation.
According to him, the successful rescue underscores the importance of effective collaboration among security agencies in combating insecurity and strengthening public confidence in the nation's security architecture.
Akinfolarin further congratulated Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the safe return of the victims, describing the development as a source of relief for their families and the people of the state.
He also prayed for the victims' speedy physical and emotional recovery, while calling on Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies in their efforts to secure the country.
The former lawmaker expressed optimism that sustained cooperation among government, security agencies, and citizens would contribute to building a safer and more secure Nigeria.
