As insecurity become the major menace resulting to Socioeconomic setback of the nation,Nigeria,all Security Agencies, religious leaders,traditional rulers and other community stakeholders  have been advised to be alive to their responsibilities and be conscious of any suspicious action by unscrupulous elements capable of causing tension so as to live a crime-free atmosphere before, during and after the 2023 general elections.

The Assistant Area Commander, Ore Area Command headquarters, ACP J.G Bakiyu gave the directive at a one day Security Summit organised by the Federal lawmaker representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Mayowa Samuel Akinfolarin for his Constituents,a programme held at Adolak International Hotel and Event Centre in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

ACP Bakiyu while berating rise spate of insecurity in the country,he cautioned Nigerians particularly the youths against unlawful possession of fire arms and other dangerous weapons which is one of the major factors endangering socioeconomic growth of the nation, urging them not to hesitate to say something when see something.

Two religious leaders, Venerable S.O Fesojaye and Alhaji Jamiu Musbau explained that the insecurity in the country could only be addressed if there is a synergy between governments, security agencies, leadership of worship centres and traditional rulers in combating crimes and criminalities within their territories.

The duo also faulted the government for its inability to provide jobs for the teaming youths, describing the judiciary system of the nation as weak, calling for a total reform of the Ministry.

The Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, His Royal Majesty Oba Aderemi Adeola who spoke on behalf of all traditional rulers present at the occasion, commended the convener of the summit, Rt Hon Mayowa Samuel Akinfolarin for organizing such a security symposium at this crucial period, tasking security agencies in the country to redouble their efforts in tackling crimes and criminalities in Nigeria.

The chairman, Odigbo Local Government Council of Obas equally charged all monarchs in Ondo State to always report every suspicious movements to security operatives including the Southwest Security Network,the Amotekun Corps, noting that this would assist crime fighters to get rid of all forms of crimes in the State.

Speaking at the summit, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON,stated that the issue of security has been prioritized by the Akeredolu led administration.

Governor Akeredolu who was represented by his deputy,Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa also noted that security operatives of the indigenous security outfit, Amotekun, since inception has made tremendous progress in curbing the high rates of insecurity in Ondo State, promised to sustain the ongoing onslaughts on criminalities in the State.

He also commended Hon. Akinfolarin for coming up with the initiative which he described as well timed.

Earlier,organiser of the security summit and Chairman House Committee on Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Rt Hon Mayowa Samuel Akinfolarin explained that the essence of the summit is centered on how the people of his Constituency and security agencies could pave way for synergy to fight insecurity at this trying time.

He lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army,and other sister security agencies for their selfless services, assuring residents of Ore to rehabilitate the bad portions along main road in the metropolis to ease movement and avoid auto-crash.

The summit has in attendance representatives of the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Immigration Service, FRSC representatives Amotekun and members of local Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN

Traditional rulers who also graced the event were Jegun of Ileoluji, Oba Olufade Akintimehin,the Orunja of Odigbo,Oba Rufus Adegboyega Akinrinmade,the Akamuja of Igburowo, Oba Nelson Gbadega Adesanoye,the Oworofun of Lapahun, Oba Solomon Adejayan,the Baales and Chiefs.
